Illness, Contagious Illness and Appointments
If you or your child is unwell, please do not come to the practice in person if you may be contagious.
This includes illnesses such as colds, flu, COVID, stomach bugs, or other viral infections. It includes, but is not limited to, the following: fever, vomiting, diarrhoea, cold or flu symptoms.
What happens if you are ill?
Your appointment is still payable if you give less than 48 hours' notice of cancellation.
However, you do not need to come to the practice when you are ill just because the appointment is payable.
If you are well enough to have your session, we can move the appointment online instead. The session will take place at the same time and the usual session fee will apply.
For example:
-
Your appointment is on Wednesday.
-
You start to feel unwell on Tuesday.
-
It is less than 48 hours before your appointment, so the session fee is still payable.
-
Please do not come to the cabin during this time.
-
If you are well enough to have your session, we can have the session online instead.
Why is this important?
If I become ill because someone attends an appointment while contagious, I risk making members of my family ill, and I can’t provide the care that my family depends on.
It can affect other clients who have appointments with me. I want the practice to be a safe and well space for everyone, and I need your help to keep it that way.
I am a self-employed therapist. I will also have to cancel my other appointments and lose income.
The cancellation policy is there to protect the time reserved for your appointment, but isn’t a reason to attend the practice when you are ill.
If you are unsure what to do, please contact me. When in doubt, stay at home and ask about having your session online.
Thank you for helping me to keep the practice a safe and well space for everyone.
