Terms and Conditions
These Terms and Conditions set out the basis on which I provide therapeutic services for neurodivergent children as a sole practitioner. By engaging my services, you agree to the following:
1. Therapeutic Services
-
Therapy is provided for children and young people in a child-led and neuroaffirming manner.
-
My role is to create a safe, supportive space for your child; I do not provide medical diagnoses.
-
Progress in therapy varies for each child and cannot be guaranteed.
2. Consent, Parental Responsibility, and Confidentiality
-
Written consent from a parent or legal guardian is required before therapy begins.
-
If one parent with parental responsibility requests support, I will proceed on that basis. It is the responsibility of that parent to inform any other individuals with parental responsibility about the details of therapy, and to forward any information.
-
Sessions are confidential. Information shared will only be disclosed when:
o There are concerns for the safety of your child or others.
o I am legally required to share information.
-
Parents may receive general updates within their child’s session; details of sessions remain private to protect the child’s space, unless safeguarding issues arise.
3. Appointments
-
Sessions last up to a maximum of 1 hour.
-
Please arrive on time; sessions cannot be extended if you are late.
-
If you need to cancel or reschedule, at least 48 hours’ notice is required. Cancellations with less notice will be charged in full.

4. Fees and Payment
-
Session fees are £60 and must be paid at least 24 hours before the therapy session itself.
-
Payment methods accepted: bank transfer.
-
Missed appointments without notice will be charged in full.

5. Safeguarding
-
As a children’s therapist, I have a duty of care to safeguard children. If I believe a child is at risk of harm, I am required to follow safeguarding procedures, which may involve contacting relevant services.

6. Communication and Crisis
-
Non-urgent communication about scheduling can be made via email.
-
Any other information, such as updates or progress in relation to therapy, can be shared within your child’s therapy hour.
-
Please do not email for urgent matters.
-
As a sole practitioner, I am unable to respond to requests at times other than during your child's therapy hour.
-
I am not a crisis or emergency service. In the event of a mental health crisis, please call 111, 999, or go to your nearest Accident & Emergency (A&E) department.

7. Ending Therapy
-
Therapy may end when goals are met, or at the request of the young person, parent/guardian or therapist.
-
A planned ending session is encouraged to provide closure for the child.
-
Please note: the Zero Tolerance Policy will impact therapy coming to an end.

8. Record Keeping
-
Session notes are kept securely and in line with data protection regulations.
-
Records are confidential and retained for the legally required period before secure disposal.
-
I have an enhanced DBS

9. Feedback
-
If you have any feedback or concerns, please email me. As a neurodivergent sole practitioner, I will respond as soon as I possibly can.
